This song was inspired by the character of Jon Snow in George R. R. Martin’s wonderful “A Song of Ice and Fire“ (A Game of Thrones) and the music of Dethklok.
With my previous song “The Eye and the Hand” I discovered that this way of singing is a lot of fun and so I decided to continue on this path for more than just a makeshift solution. So is this Death Metal? I do not care.
Once more I was surprised by how my musical influences sometimes find their ways into my songs.

The lyrics:
Lord of the Snow
Snow is falling down on me
as I walk through the streets
the path ahead a lonely one
no friends to ask in need
The world has long forsaken me
all respect denied
the final judgement has been made
’cause I’m a bastard child
Burns and scars and bloodstained hands
hardened to the bone
you revel in your ignorance
while I face the storm
My brothers will be kings one day
lords of castles high
while I am damned to seek shelter
under the open sky
It seems there is no place for me
no road for me to go
I try to persevere and find
the land beyond the snow
I’m the lord of the snow
I’m the lord of the snow
Burns and scars and bloodstained hands
hardened to the bone
you revel in your ignorance
while I face the storm
I leave behind a dead-end road
where pretence will surpass
no matter what I accomplish
I still am the outcast
So don’t you dare demand of me
to live as per your rules
Your law reveals the irony
I am free and you’re the fools
Burns and scars and bloodstained hands
hardened to the bone
you revel in your ignorance
while I face the storm
